DARKNESS FALLS ridden by David Monroe
It was bright and early and the sun barely rose over the green horse tracks but Nature Galore's team wanted to start early just as usual. David Monroe was riding Darkness Falls this morning and boy did he have a run in for his money with this colt. Darkness Falls came from old lines sired by Prancing in the Darkness is sired Hall of Fame Dare to Dream. Shadows is out of Hall of Fame Little Miss Innocent and if anyone knew that mare then this colt would clearly have eyes peeling in his direction. The colt trotted out with his head held high and his tail risen, as he bit the reins slightly to pull his jockey's arms forward so they could get started. The bay colt was very deviant and he was always on the move.
"Hey Shadow easy, I am the jockey here." David said before giving in to the horses sway. It took a little bit before getting Shadow to do what he pleaded before the colt took to a gallop in the direction that David wanted. Shadow wasn't going to back down once he started and he took off with a gentle stride in the middle of the track. The colt loved to run and once he was racing on the track he became a monster with speed that no one could stop. The turf beneath his feet was thrown from his hooves as he ran.
When David decided it was enough he pulled the reins tight to make Shadow ease who gave him a fight before he slowed down and calmed himself. David patted his neck before getting a head bob and a small buck. "Ah come on Shadow that was a good run and you know it." David said before waving at the guests watching from the sidelines of the Prancing in the Darkness colt. Shadow showed no interest in the crowd or the attention just to win and David would help him lead the way to victory.
